2012 Northern Lights

Vernissa Cultural Centre, Vantaa, Finland, Tikaloikka4 (International Seminar of Dance  Education for Children and Youths)

I had a chance to see a total eclipse in Edinburgh in 1999. Just after that, I started to see the image of Aurora and rainbows quite often while sleeping and dreaming. I could not come across any reason for that, but I decided to record these images as drawings. Though I have seen rainbows from time to time, I have never seen Aurora. It is a wonderful coincidence that I was invited to come to the country where Northern Lights can be seen regularly.

For this special occasion, I decided to create an installation work based on the image of Northern Lights from my dream. This might be very different from the actual one which I dearly wish to see one day and I am looking forward to seeing Aurora in the near in future in Finland.
